Sri Gautameswara Swamy temple in Manthani was all decked up on Monday to celebrate Tholi Ekadasi. The festival, which marks the beginning of Hindu festivals was celebrated on a grand scale across the state.
Hindus regard Toli Ekadasi as a scared day especially for the farmers. As it considered sacred by farmers new people join farming on this day.
The temple priests performed Mahanyasapurvaka Ekadasi Rudrabhishekam to the presiding deity. Besides, archanas and abhishekams were performed in the temple. .People were seen performing special pujas from the early hours as the festival coincided with Monday, which is considered auspicious for Lord Siva. Most people fast on this day and at the break of dawn they offer prayers and break the fast by eating fruits.

Kaleswara-Mukteswara temple at Kaleswaram, Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple at Dharmapuri, Gautameswara Swamy and Kotilingala temples at Manthani, Siva temple in Karimnagar and all other temples in the district celebrated the festival with religious fervor on a grand scale.
